Together for a better future
Proton Group is fully committed to creating long-term impact through local engagement and a focus on children and young people. By strengthening local influence, children’s development and safety in society, we strive to build a sustainable future in the communities where we operate. With a broad local and international focus, we make a difference – and we are convinced that a better world begins with investing in the next generation.

Proton Group has a strong social commitment that permeates everything we do. Our ambition is to create a long-term impact through local roots and a strong focus on children and young people. We work with initiatives that strengthen local influence, children’s development and safety in society, and we strive to create a sustainable future in the communities where we operate. At the same time, we place a strong focus on providing skills for future generations.
Everything is important. But we are particularly proud of our social commitment, where we support children’s and youth activities. If we are to create a better future, we need to focus on those who are growing up and will take up the baton. We do what we can to create improvements that make a real difference.
Our social commitment takes many forms. Through close collaboration with schools and associations, we offer children and young people education, internships and a path into working life. One example is our collaboration with Vandalorum Design School, where children and young people gain insight into and experience of the various work processes in the manufacturing industry. We also support initiatives that promote safety and inclusion, such as Cotec Lab’s collaboration with the IF Hallby association, which works to make football accessible to children and young people regardless of their circumstances. At the same time, Proton Lighting collaborates with Samhall to offer jobs to people who would otherwise find it difficult to enter the labour market.
We work both locally and internationally. In Lithuania, Proton Engineering supports the organisation ‘Red Noses Clowndoctors International’, which spreads joy to those who need it most, for example in hospitals. At the same time, we have also contributed to the UNHCR’s work to help those in need in Ukraine. This broad commitment shows how we as a company can make a difference, both in our local area and on a global level.
Our efforts have also been recognised. We were recently awarded the “Collaborative Company of the Year 2024” prize by Värnamo Näringsliv, confirming our work to strengthen the local community and contribute to sustainable development. But our commitment is not just a way to strengthen our role in society – it also makes us an attractive employer and partner. Through our activities, we demonstrate how sustainable business can combine economic success with social responsibility.
We have set a clear goal: by 2030, we will participate in or contribute to 100 community development activities each year. Proton Group is already an active and valuable force in society. Our work strengthens both our brand and our ability to attract talent, while creating positive effects for society as a whole.
Proton Group wants to be a credible player that makes a difference for people where we operate. By contributing jobs, initiatives and activities that improve the quality of life for many, we are laying the foundation for a future where both people and society can grow. It’s about common sense – taking responsibility for the generations that will carry the torch forward. We are here to create positive change and a better world for the next generation.

Heart for Children spreads joy and hope
Hjärta för barn (Heart for Children) is part of Hela Människan – LP Finnveden in Värnamo, and works to support children and young people who live in families with various kinds of ‘problems’ and vulnerability. Through supportive efforts and a warm community, they offer children and young people a safe place where they can receive support and opportunities for change.
Hela Människan is a joint social initiative by churches, driven by the belief that all people are equal and have the right to a dignified life. The organisation works to reduce exclusion and create hope and opportunities for people in difficult life situations. They do this through various support programmes and by empowering people to take steps towards a better life themselves.
Christmas, a time filled with joy, community and love, unfortunately does not mean the same thing to everyone. Many children and families in vulnerable situations do not have the opportunity to experience the magic of
Christmas that so many others take for granted. That is why we launched a Christmas gift collection initiative within the Group this year to support Hjärta för barn (Heart for Children), an initiative that was entirely voluntary and based on our employees’ own commitment and desire to help. The collection gave employees the opportunity to donate Christmas gifts to children who might otherwise not receive any.
Together, we hopefully created a slightly brighter Christmas for these children by spreading kindness and value to the families who need it most.
‘It really warms the heart to be able to contribute to Hjärta för Barn and their work with children and young people. Our Christmas gift collection initiative is a way for us to spread hope and joy to those who need it most, especially during a time that should be characterised by community and thoughtfulness. Seeing the commitment of our employees and knowing that together we have created a little brighter Christmas for these families is something that
really touches our hearts. We hope that our support can inspire more people to get involved in this important work’, explains Emma Ohliw, Marketing and Communications Manager, Proton Group.
There are several ways to support Hjärta för barn and Hela Människan and their work. By donating items, making a financial contribution or getting involved as a volunteer. Every effort makes a difference and helps the organisation to continue its important work for the most vulnerable in our community.
