Proton Group joins the Sustainability Pledge – a path closer to our vision

Sustainability is not something we do on the side – it is part of who we are. At Proton Group, we have long worked to reduce our impact on the environment, while developing sustainable solutions for our customers and the community around us. Now we’re taking the next step by joining the Corporate Sustainability Pledge, an initiative that brings together driven actors in Jönköping County around a common ambition: to make a difference – for real.

Proton Group ansluter sig till Hållbarhetslöftet i Jönköpings Region.

Behind the initiative is the County Administrative Board of Jönköping County in collaboration with Almi Företagspartner, Energikontor Norra Småland and the Sustainability Team (CSR Småland). Together with other companies in the region, we want to contribute to achieving Sweden’s environmental goals and Agenda 2030, with a particular focus on climate, energy and circularity.

Doing it together – for the place we work

We know that we cannot face the challenges of the future alone. That’s why we see great power in working together – both to be inspired by others and to share what we have learnt ourselves.

“We have already come a long way in our sustainability efforts, but we also know that we cannot solve the challenges on our own. By joining the Sustainability Pledge, we want to learn from others and share what we have learnt along the way. For us, sustainability is about collaborating, innovating and doing it together – step by step towards a more sustainable Jönköping County, and Sweden. This is fully in line with Proton Group’s vision of making a positive difference.”

What is the ‘Sustainability Pledge’?

Through our participation, we commit to working on concrete actions for two years, in areas such as energy efficiency, climate and circular economy. It’s more than just promises – it’s about putting words into action.

For us, sustainability is about collaborating, innovating and doing it together – step by step towards a more sustainable Jönköping County, and Sweden. This is fully in line with Proton Group’s vision of making a positive difference.

How the ‘Sustainability Pledge’ works

  1. Management buy-in: The decision to join is rooted in our top management, which energises our efforts.
  2. Concrete implementation: We develop and implement practical actions, such as energy audits, climate risk analyses and circular approaches.
  3. Follow up and develop: Every year we follow up on our work to see what we can improve and what has worked.
  4. Share and inspire: We openly share our progress to inspire others and learn from each other.

A community for sustainable change

Joining the Sustainability Promise is also stepping into a regional community. We get access to knowledge, networks and inspiration, from conferences and study visits to concrete advice from, for example, Almi, Energikontoret and the CSR network.

We look forward to meeting other companies that are passionate about sustainability – and together building something bigger than what we can do individually.

What happens next?

Throughout the year, we will tell you more about the pledges we have chosen, the activities we are putting in place – and the results we are seeing. It is a promise in itself: to be open about our journey and to continue to push for a green transition in our industry and our region.

The sustainability pledge is not just a formal commitment, it is an expression of our conviction that sustainability requires action, courage and co-operation. And that every step counts.
