From line operator to site manager

AN INTERNAL JOURNEY WITHIN PROTON GROUP

Opportunities to progress have arisen through both need and ambition and the motivation to change roles has always been to continue to develop. With a company culture that encourages development, Agan has now progressed to Site Manager and Quality & Environment Manager at Proton Finishing Grand Prix and is looking forward to continuing his journey within the group.

Agan’s journey within Proton Group began 17 years ago, when he got his first job in Sweden as a line operator at Industripulver. After four years, Agan switched to teaching at FIGY for a while, but his desire for industry and a workplace where he could grow led him to return to Proton Group in 2012, joining the Lighting business. The job at the paint shop offered better working hours and was a job closer to home and family in Värnamo.

An internal journey

During his time at Proton Group, Agan has changed positions within several companies. Opportunities to develop have arisen out of both need and ambition, and the motivation to change roles has always been to continue to develop and learn new things. Having the chance to work in such diverse areas, with new requirements and challenges, has kept the work exciting and rewarding. In her various roles, Agan has learnt a lot about leadership, not only by leading herself, but also by watching and learning from other leaders.

Support and encouragement

The corporate culture at Proton Group has had a big impact on Mr Agan’s desire to stay and grow within the Group. He feels there are always opportunities to develop, and the encouraging atmosphere has given him the motivation to keep moving forward. The supportive culture, where there is freedom to seek training and develop his skills, has been an important part of his success. Mr Agan feels that he has received the training he needed, particularly in the environmental field, to cope with his new duties.

– It is clear that the company invests in its employees and encourages them to develop and succeed. Leaders and managers within the group actively encourage employees to seek out new roles and contribute new knowledge,” says Agan.

A foundation to build on

With his previous experience at Proton Group, Agan feels confident in his new role as Site Manager and Quality and Environment Manager at Proton Finishing Grand Prix. His leadership and quality experience has given him a strong foundation to build on and in the future he looks forward to continuing to develop his leadership skills and one day reaching his goal as Site Manager.
– “The biggest challenge of the new role is to manage different processes. But it’s going to be great!” says Agan with conviction.

Agan’s advice to other colleagues who want to develop within the Group is to dare to take the step and educate themselves;
– If the will is there, the opportunity is there. With the right attitude, motivation and knowledge, you can go as far as you like within Proton Group.
